Hatters advance to ASUN Championship semifinals

Huntsville, Ala. -- The Sandy Hats continue to roll as Stetson's beach volleyball squad wins its sixth dual in a row with a 4-1 victory over College of Charleston Sunday morning on the third day of Pool Play in the 2022 ASUN Conference Championship at the John Hunt Sand Volleyball Complex. 
 
ASUN First-Team pair of Kylie Neuschaeferova and Shae Henson were the first to finish as the pair defeated Charleston's Sky Benjamin and Ella Reames in two sets on court 1. Fellow all-conference first-team members Carolina Ferraris and Anete Namike topped Amani Dunston and Sofie Vogel in two sets for the Hatters second point of the day. 
 
The Hatters (21-16) were battle tested Sunday morning, as the Cougars Maria Zweig and Jasmin Goei took Audrey Gauthier and Colene Hamilton to three sets, but the Hatters pulled out the 15-12 win in set three to seal the overall victory. Stetson dropped its first match of the tournament on court 3 as Kyra Thompson and Gabi Bailey defeated Lauren Della and Gabriella Bramante in two sets, but on court 5, despite going three sets, Karin Zolnercikova and Noelle Weintraub came out victorious with a 15-10 win in set three. 
 
With the win over College of Charleston, the Hatters finished Pool Play with a 5-0 record and advance to the semifinals to face North Florida on Monday, April 25 at 11:30 a.m.The winner will move onto the ASUN Championship to face either #20 FGCU or UNC Wilmington at 1:30 p.m.
