Hatters drop duals against No. 5 LSU, No. 4 FSU

Tallahassee, Fla. -- The Stetson University beach volleyball team dropped both contests Saturday afternoon as the Hatters fell 4-1 to No. 5 LSU and again to No. 4 FSU at the FSU Unconquered Invitational.

In the Hatters first dual of the day, Stetson squared off with No. 5 LSU for the first time this season. After the Tigers took a 1-0 advantage with a win on court 5, the Hatters battled through three sets on court 4 as Karin Zolnercikova and Gabriella Bramante topped Grace Seits and Ellie Shank to knot the dual at one apiece. The Hatters fought hard as Stetson took LSU to three sets on courts 1 and 3 but came out on the wrong side of a 4-1 loss.

In the Hatters second dual of the afternoon, Stetson met the same fate against the Seminoles that they did against the Tigers. After falling behind 1-0 on court 1, Karin Zolnercikova and Gabriella Bramante got the Hatters on the board after a hard-fought, three-set win on court 3. The Seminoles then rattled off three consecutive wins to take the dual 4-1.

The Hatters will return to action on Wednesday, April 13 at 10 a.m. as Stetson heads to Jacksonville for a doubleheader against North Florida.
