Stetson volleyball fell to Eastern Kentucky Friday night 1-3 at Alumni Coliseum.

The Hatters would find themselves down 1-7 early in the first set and saw their deficit grow. Stetson would rip off a 6-0 scoring run including three kills from
Amaris Carter to tie the game. The Hatters continued battling taking a lead 13-12 before falling behind again. The teams would continue trading points until the Hatters took an 18-17 lead. They would fall short thought dropping the first set 23-25.

The Hatters would jump out to an early 3-0 lead before Eastern Kentucky would answer with a four-point scoring run of their own. After trading points the Hatters would get three straight kills all from different players going up 12-8. Stetson would increase their lead to five before the Colonels would cut it down to three. The Hatters would hang on to win the set 25-23.

In the third set the Hatters would find themselves down 1-3 before battling back to tie the match at four. The score would be tied at 5, 6, 7, and 8. The set would get away from Stetson as they would drop it 15-25.

The Hatters would start the fourth set trailing once again. They would fight back though with the score being tied nine times in the set. The Hatters would take a 20-18 lead on a kill by Carter. However, after an Eastern Kentucky timeout they would drop four straight points.
Sophia Groom would end up tying the set for the Hatters at 23 but they couldn't complete the comeback and force the fifth set falling 23-25.

Carter led the team with 18 kills while tallying 12 assists earning a double-double.
Nyah Molina led the team in assists with 24 followed by
Elif Yasar with 16. Haruka totaled 28 digs leading the team with Groom leading the team with 5 total blocks.Â

Stetson will take on Bellarmine tomorrow afternoon. The match will begin at 4pm at Knights Hall.
