Stetson Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule

DeLAND, Fla. - The Stetson Hatters baseball team is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season, looking to build upon their impressive achievements from last year. Under the leadership of Head Coach Steve Trimper, the Hatters delivered their best performance since 2018, finishing the 2023 season with a remarkable 35-23 overall record. Their success extended to conference play, where they boasted a remarkable 20-10 record, and their home field advantage was undeniable with a stellar 25-10 home record.

The 2024 season kicks off with a seven-game home stand, featuring thrilling matchups at Melching Field. The Hatters will begin their campaign with a four-game series against West Virginia, spanning from Feb 16-19. Following this, they will face off against Maine (Feb. 23), West Point (Feb. 24), and Fordham (Feb 25) in a trio of games before hosting the Florida Gators on February 27 at 6:30 PM.

After wrapping up their home stand with a four-game series against Brown (Mar. 1-3), the Hatters will hit the road for the first time, taking on the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens on March 6 at 6:00 PM.

The team will then return to Melching Field for another four-game home stretch, this time hosting Bradley University. Following this, they will embark on a five-game road trip, highlighted by a three-game series against Jacksonville, which marks the beginning of their conference play. The road trip will also feature matchups against UCF in Orlando on March 13 and Florida State in Tallahassee on March 19.

Returning to their home turf, the Hatters will host Lipscomb from March 22-24 before heading out to the Bluegrass State for a three-game series at Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 28-30).

Stetson fans can then look forward to an extended home stand, as the team will play nine games at Melching Field. They will start with a matchup against the USF Bulls on April 2, followed by series against Kennesaw State (Apr. 5-7) and FGCU (Apr. 12-14). UCF will separate the two series and make an appearance in DeLand at 6:30 PM on April 10.

The Hatters will then hit the road for nine games, starting with a visit to Bethune-Cookman before making stops at North Alabama (Apr. 19-21), Florida, North Florida (Apr. 26-28), and USF (Apr. 30). The highly-anticipated matchup against the Florida Gators is scheduled for 6:00 PM on April 23 in Gainesville.

Stetson's return to home will be brief, featuring a series against Austin Peay from May 3-5 before hosting Bethune-Cookman for a single game at 6:30 PM on May 7. The Hatters will then play a series at Queens University of Charlotte from May 10 to 12.

The Hatters will make their final stand at home, hosting the Florida State Seminoles on May 14 at 5 PM, followed by their last conference series against Central Arkansas (May 16-18).

"We are excited to release our 2024 schedule. The list of quality opponents we will square off against will undoubtedly help our strength of schedule and RPI as the year progresses," said Trimper. "This, coupled with a highly competitive Atlantic Sun conference schedule, will provide us with a challenging slate."

At the conclusion of the season, Melching Field at Conrad Park will be the site of the ASUN Championship for the second-straight year from May 21-26.
