The Hatters defeated the Lions Saturday night at the Edmunds Center 3-1. The win improved Stetson's record to 4-2 in conference and 3-0 at home this season.

Yang Deng. "We had a long trip coming back from FGCU, but I'm proud of them for having a strong mind and play well as a team."

The Hatters would find themselves down early before going on a 4-0 run to go up 5-3. After trading a couple of points
Nyah Molina would make a slick one-handed set to
Amaris Carter who put it away for the Hatters ninth point of the set. The Hatters would go on two different three-point streaks that would put them up 14-8. This time Stetson would go on a four-point scoring streak putting them up 19-12 before ending the set on a three point scoring streak thanks to an ace from Molina.Â

Stetson would find themselves up early before the Lions would come back to tie the score at four. North Alabama would score to go up 5-4 when Coach Deng would use her first challenge. The Hatters would win the challenge and go up 5-4 instead. The middle of the set would get away from the Hatters as they would eventually find themselves down by seven. Stetson would battle back but end up losing the set 21-25.

"North Alabama was serving strong in the second set but we were able to just refocus in the third set with the mentality of one more time" said Deng.

The Hatters would find themselves down 4-6 before exploding on a seven-point scoring streak to go up 11-6 with four of those points coming on aces from
Anabelle Standish. The Hatters would continue building their lead as they would find themselves up by ten before winning the set 25-17.

Stetson would take the lead early 6-1 on a four-point scoring streak. The Hatters would then expand their lead to 16-8 on two different scoring steaks. Stetson would continue attacking increasing their lead to ten once again in this match. Standish would win the set and the match for the Hatters on an ace.

Standish finished the match leading the team in kills and aces with 19 and five respectively as well as having a season high 24.5 points. Molina would lead the Hatters in assists with a season high 51 assists.
Haruka Sugimoto once again led Stetson in digs with 21 followed by Carter and
Selin Kalkan with 14. Carter and Molina were the two players that finished with double doubles for the Hatters. Stetson also tied their season high in serving aces as a team with seven which they also had against Jacksonville.Â
