GAINESVILLE, Fla. - On Friday, November 10, 2023, Stetson cross country participated in the NCAA South Regional at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla., hosted by the University of Florida.
In the Women's 6K Championship Race at 8:30 a.m., the team achieved a 23rd place out of 29 teams, surpassing competitors such as Florida Atlantic or ASUN rivals, North Alabama, and Austin Peay.
Juliet Tonkin led the Hatters with a 59th place finish and a time of 20:24.1, followed by
Blair Durda at 102nd with a time of 20:55.2.
Madison Niederriter and
Annabelle Brink secured the 182nd and 194th positions, clocking in at 22:43.2 and 23:02.6, respectively.
Taylor Cushenberry finished closely behind at 200th place, completing the race in 23:37.6.
In the Men's 10K Championship Race at 9:30 a.m., the men's team claimed the 20th spot out of 23 teams, ahead of South Alabama, North Alabama, and Jacksonville St.
Collin Brooks led the Hatters with a 98th place finish and a time of 31:54.0, followed by Eduardo Diaz at 110th with a time of 32:17.2.
Patrick Pitts and
Seth Singer secured the 116th and 119th positions with times of 32:32.1 and 32:43.0, respectively.
Conrad Voigt finished closely behind at 124th with 32:52.3, and
Luke Danison crossed the line at 135th with a time of 33:05.5. Freshman
Robbie Champa rounded out the Hatters' performance with a 152nd place finish, completing the race in 34:02.3.
With the conclusion of the NCAA South Regional, the Hatters wrap up their 2023 season as Head Coach
Nathan Christianson will look to strengthen a team that will feature many returners.
