GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Hatters will compete for their final race this season in the NCAA South Regional, set to take place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla., hosted by the University of Florida on Friday, November 10. Stetson aims to make a mark in the Women's 6K Championship Race at 8:30 a.m. and the Men's 10K Championship Race at 9:30 a.m.
The Stetson teams have shown promise, with Juliet Tonkin and Blair Durda leading the charge in the recent ASUN Championship which saw the Stetson men's and women's teams both secure 8th place overall.
Tonkin displayed her prowess by clinching 12th place with an impressive 17:35.18 5K time. Her outstanding performance has earned her a spot on the ASUN All Conference second team. Following closely behind, Blair Durda secured the 19th place with a notable 17:44.45 time, granting her ASUN All Conference third team honors.
Durda was also recently named to the Academic All-Asun team, further highlighting her achievements this season.
On the men's side, Collin Brooks led the Stetson campaign with a time of 25:57.54, securing 41st place. Eduardo Diaz followed with a solid performance crossing the line at 26:21.65, trailed by Conrad Voight at 26:28.25.
The South Regional presents a challenge and an opportunity for Stetson's cross country teams to showcase their skills against the country's best opponents, with the women facing off against 37 teams and the men facing 31.
