JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Stetson cross country program made the short trip north to compete in the ASUN Championship Friday morning. The women's team placed 11th, while the men's team had a team finish of 9th.
The women's 5K was the first race of the day, senior
Blair Durda paced the Hatters as she placed 28th with a time of 18:03.7, right behind her was
Madison Kerr-Wong who finished in 51st with a time of 18:50.3.
Deanna Bottino crossed the line in 19:11.5 good for 61st
Annabelle Brink was next for the Hatters running a time of 19:27.5 a 71st finish. A pair of Hatters finished back to back as
Rylan Holmquist and
Taylor Cushenberry finished 80th and 81st with times of 20:03.2 and 20:11.3.
Madeleine Empric finished 90th crossing the line at 20:50.4. Stetson finished 11th as a team in front of ASUN newcomer West Georgia.
The men's 8K was next and
Conrad Voigt was the highest on the individual leader board finishing 38th with a time of 25:15.1.
Eduardo Diaz Deanda came across in 54th finishing in 25:45.2,
Luke Danison was next for the Hatters in 62nd having a time of 26:03.1.
Seth Singer finished 66th 26:16.8, just before the Stetson pair of
Robbie Champa (78th 26:48.4) and
Zeke Galbraith (79th 26:50.2).
Carlos Cerrud would be the final Hatter to cross the line in 28:20.9 in 100th. Stetson as a team finished in 9th ahead of West Georgia, Jacksonville and Austin Peay.
Up next is a trip to Tallahassee for the NCAA South Region Championships on November 15th.
