DeLand, Fla. - Stetson will take on Florida International on Tuesday, Dec. 19 and Cincinnati on Friday, Dec. 22.  Both games will tip off at 7pm and bring the Hatters to a small break before Christmas.  

History
The Hatters are 9-16 against against the Panthers. The teams last met on December 4, 2021. They first faced off on November 26, 1990. This will be the first time that Stetson and Cincinnati play each other.  
 
Scouting the Hatters (6-5, ASUN 0-0)
Jalen Blackmon leads the Hatters this season averaging 22.1 points per game (ninth in the NCAA). He is shooting 47.9% from the field and 47.7% from beyond the arc. Blackmon currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in 3-point field goals made per game with 3.82 while also ranking sixth in the NCAA in total 3-point field goals made with 42. Blackmon also ranks ninth, in the NCAA, in free throw percentage hitting on 95.6 percent. Aubin Gateretse is averaging 11.0 points per game and leads the team averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. Stephan Swenson, the Hatters' floor general, has been racking up the assists this season averaging 6.2 per game which puts him second in the ASUN. Swenson is also averaging 11.0 points per game and 4.9 rebounds. 
 
Stetson as a team is averaging 78.7 points per game while shooting 47.2% from the field and 36.6% from three. The team averages 9.8 three points per game. The Hatters are averaging 11.1 free throws per game and are first in the NCAA shooting 81.9% from the charity stripe. The team has out rebounded their opponents by 3.2 rebounds per game keeping the opposing team from getting second chance points.
 
Scouting the Opponents
Florida International (4-8, CUSA 0-0)
FIU is coming off a 146-55 victory over Trinity College on Saturday night. They have taken on two ASUN opponents this season, beating Kennesaw State 91-84 before falling to FGCU 65-68. The Panthers average 77.2 points per game shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from three. The team has only hit 66.7% of their free throws and they average 11.3 per game. Arturo Dean leads Florida International averaging 12.9 points per game, 4.4 rebounds, 61 total assists and 51 steals. The only category Dean doesn't lead is blocks where Seth Pinkney has racked up fifteen. 


Cincinnati (8-2, Big 12 0-0)
The Bearcats are coming off a 68-82 loss to Dayton and will host Merrimack before the Hatters. Cincinnati hosted FGCU earlier this month, routing the Eagles 99-62. The Bearcats average 84.3 points per game and boast a 16.9 scoring margin. As a team, they shoot 45.9 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc. They also hit 68.8 percent of the 13.7 free throws averaged per game. Cincinnati boasts high numbers, having a rebounding margin of over 12 per game, 16.7 assists, while also scoring almost 12 points off turnovers per game. Viktor Lakhin leads the team in points averaging 13.6 points and also grabs 8.6 rebounds per game. Aziz Bandaogo anchors the Bearcat's defense averaging nine rebounds a game while tallying 10 blocks on the season.

After the break the Hatters will return home and host Charlotte on Friday, Dec. 29. The game will tip off at 7pm as Stetson looks to get revenge for earlier this season.
