Women's Tennis Secures Victory Over Southeastern

DELAND, Fla.- Stetson women's tennis faced off against the Southeastern Fire Wednesday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Hatters took care of business, winning 7-0.  

To start the match, Stetson took the lead with all three doubles courts, securing victories on all sides. Noa Cohen & Nadejda Maslova beat Southeastern's Irene Lopez & Baptista 6-1 on court 3 and Alanna Difrancesco & Magdalena Hedrzak won against Beatrice Letizia and Micah Sypert 6-1 on court 1. The Hatters finished off the doubles strong with Cheri Darley & Anais Gabriel defeating Martina Picardi & Simone Simas 6-2 on court 2.  

Stetson continued to dominate in singles with Alanna Difrancesco winning against Southeastern's Martina Picardi 6-0, 6-1 on court 1 and Magdalena Hedrzak defeating Simone Simas 6-1, 6-1 on court 4. Laetitia Rizk beat Abigal Damon 6-3, 6-1 on court 6 with Cheri Darley battling to the end against Mica Sypert winning 6-2 6-4 on court 2. Noa Cohen dominated against Beatrice Letizia winning 6-1, 6-3 on court 3. On court 5, Pilar Astigarraga & Neiberline battled it out with Hedrzak winning the first game 6-1. However, Neiberline had to withdraw in the second game giving the Hatters the win. 

"We have to keep our focus super high and try not to get distracted by whatever's going on. I think everyone played very well, and we'll be looking to get another win next week", said senior Noa Cohen.

The Hatters will take on Florida A&M Saturday, February 11 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
