Box Score DeLand – Fla. The Hatters (8-4) took on the Golden Grizzlies (1-4) on Thursday morning and won 6-1.
Nadejda Maslova and
Cheri Darley started off the day with a win 6-3, followed by
Noa Cohen and
Anais Gabriel with a 6-4 win to secure the doubles point.
Magdalena Hedrzak won the first singles point for the Hatters going 6-1 and 6-0 while Pilar Harper followed with a straight set 6-1 and 6-2 win.
Alanna DiFrancesco clinched the victory for Stetson as she won her match 6-2 and 6-4 on court 2.
Anais Gabriel on court 3 and
Noa Cohen on court 4, also picked up victories for the Hatters.
"We did what we needed today. We may not have played the level that we expect to play but we got the win. Tomorrow we know we must take it to a higher level against a very good Charleston team," head coach
Travis Sandlant said.
The Hatters will be back in action, Friday at 10:00AM at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Complex as they take on the College of Charleston.
