On the second day of the Stetson Beach Invitational, #17 Stetson (12-8) would split a pair of matches. They would fall 1-4 to #14 Florida Atlantic (12-8) in the morning and in the afternoon defeat North Alabama (12-11) 4-1.
In the first match with FAU, Stetson would drop 1-4 to the #14 Owls.
At pair 1,
Karin Zolnercikova and
Shae Henson got another win to make their win streak 9, 21-18, 21-17. At pair 2,
Carolina Ferraris and
Anete Namike had their 10 match winning streak ended 18-21, 19-21.
At pair 3,
Noelle Weintraub and
Audrey Gauthier fought hard, but ended up coming short 13-21, 23-25. At pair 4,
Klea Sirois and
Lauren Della lost 19-21, 10-21. At pair 5,
Tori Clement and
Gabriella Bramante fell 15-21, 16-21.
Prior to the North Alabama match Stetson honored graduate students
Jenna Gathright and
Kennedy Warren for their contributions to the program.
In the afternoon, pair 1,
Karin Zolnercikova and
Shae Henson dropped a 3-set match 21-16, 19-21, 11-15. At pair 2,
Carolina Ferraris and
Anete Namike would return to their winning ways 21-19, 21-17. At pair 3,
Noelle Weintraub and
Audrey Gauthier would comeback to win a 3-set match 20-22, 21-17, 15-13.
At pair 4,
Tori Clement and
Gabriella Bramante would cruise to a 21-14, 21-21 victory. At pair 5,
Klea Sirois and
Lauren Della won 21-14, 21-14.
The Hatters will head to Jacksonville next weekend March 31
st and April 1
st for the North Florida Invite where they will face FGCU, TCU, Pepperdine and North Florida.
