Women's Rowing continues to Develop

The Stetson Women's Rowing team competed this past Saturday against Miami at the Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center. The conditions featured 11-17mph wind gusts with all races covering 2,000 meters.

The conditions were not ideal, but all the races were completed. "Thanks to James and his staff for bring Miami up to DeLand this weekend.  Although the conditions were windier than we would have liked, we were able to get all races off without any issue," head coach Jamie Francis said.

Miami won all three races against the Hatters, but the Hatters learned a lot and will grow from the competition. "Our women came off of a tough spring break training week to race one of the fastest teams in the state.  We learned a lot from our first race of the spring," Francis said.

One bright spot for the Hatters was the four, "The highlight was our four coxed by Cas.  Although they finished behind Miami, they put up a good fight and closed the gap considerably based on our results against Miami last year. I'm looking forward to seeing how this team develops over the next several weeks," Francis said.

Stetson will be back in action on March 18th as they host the DeLand Double Duals with Drake, Jacksonville and Embry-Riddle.
