Stetson to Host ASUN Quarterfinal, All-Conference Teams Announced

DeLand, Fla. - Three members of Stetson's women's tennis team have claimed ASUN All-Conference Honors the league announced on Wednesday. Anais Gabriel, Alanna DiFrancesco and Cheri Darley all made ASUN All-Conference teams after their performance in the 2023 ASUN regular season.

Anais Gabriel (Geneva, Switzerland) received her third All-Conference honor as she is ASUN Second Team. In the 2023 regular season, Gabriel has a 15-3 record in singles and an 8-0 conference record, while being undefeated on court two. In doubles play Gabriel is 18-4 and with Noa Cohen as her partner, they were undefeated in ASUN play.

Alanna DiFrancesco (Madrid, Spain) received her second All-Conference honor as she is ASUN Third Team. In the 2023 regular season, DiFrancesco was 13-8 overall in singles play, 2-5 in ASUN matches and an undefeated 8-0 on court two. In doubles play DiFrancesco was 8-8 overall.

Cheri Darley (Billingham, England) is the third representative from Stetson on the ASUN All-Conference team as she claims Third Team honors. In the 2023 regular season, Darley compiled a 13-3 record in singles play going 6-2 in ASUN play. In doubles play Darley was 9-10 with a 4-4 ASUN record.

Looking Ahead:

The 2022 ASUN Champions look to defend their title starting on Sunday April 16th at 10:00 a.m. in DeLand, Florida as they received the #2 overall seed in the ASUN tournament with a record of 16-7 and 6-2 during ASUN play. As the #2 seed Stetson receives a bye and advances to the ASUN quarterfinals. They will play the winner of the Saturday match between the 7-seed Jacksonville State and the 10-seed North Alabama, which will be played in DeLand on Saturday April 15th at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center at 10:00 a.m. Stetson has not faced either Jacksonville State or North Alabama this year in conference play.
