Hatters Split with FAU and St. Thomas

Della, Stadnik extend win streak to six

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Playing its final two tune-ups before the start of the ASUN Championship, No. 18 Stetson split with No. 15 FAU and St. Thomas Saturday at FAU's Battle of the Beach Burrow. The Hatters fell 4-1 to the host Owls before sweeping St. Thomas 5-0 for the second day in a row.

Lauren Della and Aleksandra Stadnik went 2-0 Saturday at Pair 5 to complete a perfect 4-0 weekend. They defeated FAU's 5s 21-18, 21-19 before posting a 21-6, 21-10 win over the 5s from St. Thomas. Della and Stadnik have won six in a row overall.

For the second straight day, Stetson won all five matches against St. Thomas. Shae Henson and Karin Zolnercikova won 21-23, 21-7, 15-6 at the 1s, Anete Namike and Carolina Ferraris won 21-8, 21-10 at the 2s, Gabriella Bramante and Tori Clement won 21-7, 21-15 at the 3s, and Jenna Gathright and Kennedy Warren won 21-5, 21-7 at the 4s, in addition to Della and Stadnik's win at 5.

With the split, the Hatters completed regular season play with an 18-14 record, including a 5-1 mark against ASUN opponents. UNF will host the 2023 ASUN Championship next weekend in Jacksonville. The league office will announce the seeds and the bracket by the end of the weekend.
