DeLand, Fla. – Stetson (15-6, 5-1) will be hosting their final two matches this week at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center starting Thursday with a match against Liberty (14-7, 5-1) at 10:00 a.m. and then a match with Queens (5-15, 0-6) on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. where they will honor their seniors.
Thursday will be a matchup of two teams atop the conference as Liberty is 5-1 in the ASUN as well as Stetson. Liberty is coming off a 6-1 road victory over Eastern Kentucky and Stetson is coming off a 6-1 road victory of their own over Lipscomb. The match will be played at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Saturday will be Stetson's final home and ASUN regular season match of the year as they host Queens Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Queens is winless in their first year in the ASUN and 5-15 overall. A limited supply of Kona Ice will be distributed to the first 50 fans.
Saturday Stetson will be honoring three student-athletes for their contributions to the program. The honorees are
Anais Gabriel,
Noa Cohen and
Elodie Foster.
Anais Gabriel (Geneva, Switzerland) is graduate student majoring in world languages and cultures. Anais has been selected to multiple ASUN All-Conference teams over her career at Stetson, which include two ASUN All-Conference singles selections one first team and on second team honor. Gabriel has also won ASUN Player of the Week two times. Gabriel is currently 10-0 at the #2 and 14-3 overall in singles play.
Noa Cohen (Nice, France) is a senior majoring in finance. Cohen was selected to the ASUN All-Conference Second team as junior and to the ASUN honor roll as a freshmen. Cohen's 21 singles wins in 2022 were tied for the fifth-most ever at Stetson. Cohen is currently 13-3 during singles play on the season.
Elodie Foster (Kurwongbah, Australia) is a senior majoring in health sciences. Foster was named to the ASUN All-Academic Team as a junior and ASUN honor roll as a sophomore. During the 2022 season Foster was 13-9 in doubles play, playing primarily at the No. 1 spot and 9-9 in singles play on courts 3-5. Foster has not played in the 2023 season due to injury.
