Henson, Zolnercikova Named AVCA All-Americans

Lexington, Ky. -- Stetson senior Shae Henson (Merritt Island, Fla.) and sophomore Karin Zolnercikova (Orlova, Czech Republic) have been named Second Team All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Henson and Zolnercokova enter the postseason with a 24-12 record while playing entirely at the No. 1 position for the Hatters this season. The duo earned several conference awards this season, including ASUN first team all-conference, ASUN all-tournament team, and ASUN Pair of the Week.

The duo have posted six wins against Top 20 opponents, defeating pairs from #12 Florida Atlantic, #6 Grand Canyon, #13 Long Beach State (twice), #14 Florida Atlantic, and #11 Georgia State.

It is Henson's second consecutive All-America honor and the first for Zolnercikova. They are the fifth Stetson beach volleyball pair to earn AVCA All-America honors.

No. 15 Stetson (22-14) will face No. 2 seed TCU (35-2) Friday afternoon in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. First serve is set for 2 p.m. ET with live coverage on ESPNU and ESPN+.
