Men's Cross Country

Stetson Earns Pair of Top-15 Finishes at FSU Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - At the Florida State XC Invite held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee on Friday, September 29th, both the Stetson University men's and women's cross country teams delivered commendable performances.

The men's team secured the 11th position out of 31 teams, accumulating a total of 302 points, finishing ahead of Volusia County rival Daytona State. In the highly competitive men's 8K race, sophomore Collin Brooks paced the Hatters, claiming the 40th spot with a finishing time of 25:40.9. Freshman Robbie Champa wasn't far behind, securing the 56th position with a time of 25:56.0. Conrad Voight and Eduardo Diaz Deanda performed solidly, finishing 90th and 99th, respectively, with times of 26:19.1 and 26:26.5. Freshmen Michael Petrovic and Seth Singer wrapped up the men's lineup, securing the 114th and 120th spots with times of 26:40.9 and 26:45.8. Christian Pastrana completed the team's efforts, crossing the finish line with a time of 27:59.5.

On the women's side, Stetson's team placed 14th out of 35 teams, finishing ahead of their fellow ASUN foes. In the women's 5K race, which featured 341 runners, six of whom did not finish, junior Blair Durda emerged as the top performer for Stetson, finishing 22nd with a time of 18:15.9. Juliet Tonkin contributed significantly, securing the 31st spot with a time of 18:23.3. Junior Madison Niederriter ran a strong race, finishing 81st with a time of 19:16.0. Annabelle Brink claimed the 155th position with a time of 20:14.1, while Taylor Cushenberry closely followed in 164th place with a time of 20:21.4. Freshman Madeleine Empric rounded out the women's team, finishing in the 209th position with a time of 21:04.6.

Looking ahead, the Hatters will be gearing up for their next challenge at the Upstate Invite, hosted by USC Upstate at the Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg, SC, scheduled for Saturday, October 14th.

After this event, the Hatters will hit the ground running once again in the Upstate Invite in Spartansburg, SC, scheduled for Saturday, October 14th.
