EDISTO ISLAND, SC - The Stetson women's golf team finished in sixth place in the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston.
Ailsa Brannock finished the highest on the individual leader board as she recorded a 12th place finish.
After round one, Stetson found themselves in third overall with three Hatters under par. The freshmen
Isaki Sakashita found herself at two under, Brannock and
Grace Smith were right behind with a one under par first round.
Elizabeth Eberle shot a 76 and
Julieta Oviedo shot a 77 with par being 71. The Hatters finished day one in sixth place overall. Eberle had the best second round for the Hatters shooting an even 71 sitting just inside the top 10 on the individual leader board in 9th, Brannock and Oviedo both shot a 75. Sakashita and Smith finished at 77 and 78.
Upon conclusion of Tuesday's round Stetson found themselves in 6th where they had started the day. Brannock once again led the Hatters with a 77, followed by Sakashita and Oviedo who each shot 78. Smith finished the tournament with a 79, while Eberle shot an 80.
For the tournament, the Hatters finished in sixth as a team in the sixteen team field. They found themselves ahead of schools such as Rollins, Longwood, Appalachian State and The Citadel. On the individual leader board, the Hatters all finished in the top 45 of the 90 person field. Brannock finished in 12th, Sakashita 26th, Smith and Eberle both tied for 34th. Oviedo finished 42nd. The Hatters boasted the lowest average on the par threes and second lowest on the par fives over the three round tournament.
Up next Stetson will travel south to Miami for the Hurricane Invitational on October 28th and 29th.
