ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Stetson women's golf team holds a two-shot lead after the opening round of the Navy Fall Invitational, finishing Saturday at +16 at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
The Hatters were led by a trio of top-10 performers, as Filippa Jansson sits tied for fourth at +2, followed by Ailsa Brannock (+3, T-6) and Isaki Sakashita (+4, T-8). Elizabeth Eberle (+7, T-24) and Maggie Potash (+10, T-45) rounded out Stetson's lineup, helping the team edge Bucknell (+18) and Howard (+20) heading into Sunday's final round.
Statistically, Stetson impressed across all facets of play, ranking first on Par 3s (3.00 average), tied for second on Par 4s (4.38), and tied for fourth on Par 5s (5.35). The Hatters also tied for the most birdies in the field with ten and ranked third with 52 pars, led by Eberle's 12. Brannock led all players in Par 3 scoring with a 2.25 average, while Jansson followed closely at 2.75. Jansson's four birdies paced Stetson, with Sakashita adding three of her own.
