DeLand, Fla. — Stetson's Filippa Jansson has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.
Jansson led the Hatters to a team title at the Navy Fall Invitational, finishing second overall in the 15-team field. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native fired rounds of 74 and 70 on the par-70 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club course, with her final-round 70 matching the lowest score of the day to help Stetson capture a five-stroke victory.
Jansson led all players in birdies with nine and earned her second top-three finish of the fall season under head coach Teresa Brown.
The Hatters will return to action later this month at the Edisto Island Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston on Oct. 27–28 at The Plantation Course at Edisto in Edisto Beach, S.C.
