DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Volleyball fell to North Alabama 3-1 Sunday afternoon.
The first set was tight early, but the Lions pulled away and the Hatters dropped the first set 25-11. Going into the second set the Lions pulled away once again. Stetson used a four-point scoring run tie the set at 6 and put pressure on North Alabama, but ended up dropped in the set 25-16.
In the third set, the Hatters were able to jump out to a 6-3 lead. Stetson continued to try and pull away, but North Alabama tied the set up at 11.
Anabelle Standish delivered three consecutive kills for the Hatters putting them ahead 15-12 and a couple of plays later
Kayla Balfour pushed the Hatters lead to five. The Lions pulled back to within one, however the Hatters wouldn't be denied the set victory closing it out 25-22.
Stetson couldn't force a fifth set like they did in their previous match, dropping the fourth set 25-12, and falling 3-1.
Standish tallied her second double-double in a row with a team lead in kills with 12 and digs with 16.
Lauren Della tallied a career high in kills with nine in her best showing of the season.
Elif Yasar totaled a team high 28 assists.
The Hatters next game will be on the road Friday, October 25
th to take on Austin Peay at 6:00pm.
