DELAND, Fla. - The Stetson Hatters (4-0) took on Southern Miss (2-2) recording another sweep 5-0 and in the afternoon faced ASUN foe FGCU (3-1) winning a hard fought 4-1 battle on day two of the Spring Fling.
 
Stetson started the day off getting their third sweep of the weekend against Southern Miss 5-0. Pair 1, Shae Henson and Tori Clement won 24-22, 21-11. At pair 2, Carolina Ferraris and Audrey Gauthier won 21-13, 21-14. The third pairing of Vanessa Hurnikova and Klea Sirois earned a victory 21-11, 21-14. Hurnikova picked up the win against her former team.
 
At pair four, Julia Czurylo and Gabriella Bramante picked up the win in three sets 18-21, 21-16, 15-12. Earning their third victory of the weekend. The fifth pairing of Lauren Della and Alanna Shields started the scoring for the Hatters with a 21-12, 21-12 victory. Shields picked up her first win as a Hatter after transferring from Cal State Bakersfield.
 
In the second match of the day Stetson faced off against fellow ASUN member FGCU. At pair 1, Shae Henson and Tori Clement battled to a three set win 17-21, 21-19, 15-12. At the second pairing, Carolina Ferraris and Audrey Gauthier clinched another victory for the Hatters as they won 21-19, 21-15. At the third pair, Vanessa Hurnikova and Klea Sirois earned a victory in 2 sets 23-21, 21-16 to go unbeaten on the weekend. 
 
The Hatters dropped their first of the season on the fourth court. Julia Czurylo and Hanna Gubik fell 9-21, 17-21. At pair five, Lauren Della and Alanna Shields came from behind to win in three sets 15-21, 21-15, 15-7. 
 
Up next for the Hatters will be a road trip to Tallahassee for the Florida State Invitational, which starts on Saturday March 2^nd. The Hatters will face the University of Tampa, Georgia State, Louisiana Monroe and host Florida State over the two day span.
