Stetson Lacrosse Couldn't Miss in Victory Over Gardner-Webb

Box Score Stetson's Lacrosse dominated Gardner-Webb on Tuesday winning 23-3 at the Athletic Training Center. 
 
The Hatters scored 17 unanswered goals in the first half of the game with the running clock starting in the first period. Katie Kornacki opened the flood gates for Stetson 37 seconds into the game. Maya Sellinger, Molly Kearney, Anya Phillips, and Kaitlin Pani all tallied one goal in the half. Georgia Goering scored twice. Sam King completed her hat trick in the first period, while Lexi Bird and Jordyn Humphrey finished their hat tricks in the second. Kornacki closed out the scoring for the Hatters in the first half giving them a 17-0 lead. Sydney Heimann played just the first half on her way to posting a 100% save percentage. 
 
Avery Lanzarotta made her fourth appearance of the season when she took over for Heimann in the second half. The Bulldogs opened up the scoring in the second half, scoring back to back goals. Stetson answered with two goals of their own this time from Pani and King which was her fourth. In the fourth period the Hatters scored four goals in a row. Rori Prilik and Calyn Scott both scored their first collegiate goals to start off the fourth quarter. King found the back of the net for her fifth of the game and Phillips tallied her second to put the Hatters up 23-2. Gardner-Webb added one more goal before the end of the game and Stetson came out on top with a 23-3 victory.
 
Humphrey totaled the most points for the Hatters as she scored three goals and picked up four assists. King led Stetson in scoring with five goals. In total 11 different players scored with thirteen players earning at least a point in the contest. 
 
Stetson has a quick turnaround as they will host Niagara University on Thursday, March 14. That game will start at 6pm at the Athletic Training Center.
