Box Score Stetson Lacrosse earned their first conference win 19-16 over Kennesaw State Sunday afternoon. 
 
The Hatters were down 2-0 in the first period before Kaitlin Pani got them on the board. The Owls found the back of the next for three straight goals before Jordyn Humphrey and Katie Kornacki each got one back for Stetson.
 
Kornacki started off the scoring in the second period bringing the Hatters to within one goal, but Kennesaw State added two more goals to make it 7-4. Pani scored her second, but the Owls answered once again. Stetson then rattled off four goals in just over 3 minutes to take a 9-8 lead. Pani added three more with Anya Phillips grabbing the fourth in that run. Kennesaw State tied it up forty seconds later, but Kornacki completed her hat trick and Humphrey scored her second to put the Hatters up 11-9. The Owls scored once more before halftime as Stetson led 11-10. 
 
Phillips tallied her second goal of the contest fifteen seconds into the second half and Humphrey added to more to push the Hatters lead to four. The Owls got one back, but Molly Kearney scored her first of the game to make it 15-11. 
 
Kennesaw State scored two goals to end the third and two to start the fourth tying the game up at 15. Humphrey tallied three straight goals to put the Hatters but up on top. With 2:32 left the Owls scored but Maya Sellinger put the game away with just over a minute left as the Hatters held on to win 19-16. 
 
Stetson will return home and host Longwood on Thursday, April 11 at the ATC. The game will start at 12pm.
