Men's Basketball Welcomes Scott Bracco

DeLand, Fla. - Stetson Men's Basketball welcomes Scott Bracco as the newest Assistant Coach. Bracco joins the Hatters for the 2024-25 season with over 25 years of coaching experience.

"Scott Bracco joins our team, bringing over 25 years of coaching excellence and a reputation as a respected builder and teacher in Georgia," said Head Coach Donnie Jones. 
 
Most recently Bracco was the Head Coach at Sequoyah High School for the 2023-24 season leading his team to the GHSA First Round. Prior to his time at Sequoyah, he was the Head Coach at East Forsyth High School from 2021-2023. He took East Forsyth to the GHSA First Round in 2022. Bracco was also the Head Coach at Lambert High School from 2012-2021. He brought Lambert to the GHSA First Round in 2013, 2019, 2020 and 2021. From 2014-2018 he led them to the GHSA Sweet Sixteen. Bracco was the Head Coach at South Gwinnett High School from 2009-2012. Prior to that he was the Head Coach at Dunwoody High School from 2000-2009. While at Dunwoody, he led the team to the HBC National Championship in 2004 and won the GHSA State Championships three years in a row from 2004 to 2006. 
 
Bracco was an Assistant Coach at Georgia Southern from 1998-1999 and prior to that he was the Head Coach at Mt. Zion High School from 1996-1998. At Mt. Zion he led his team to the GHSA First Round as well. Over his six stops as a head coach he has a 491-219 overall record. 
 
Bracco has earned 23 Coach of the Year awards during his time as a high school head coach in the state of Georgia, including being a 3-Time Georgia Coach of the Year. He has developed over 75 players who have competed at the collegiate level, including one McDonald's All American and 24 Division I signees. Not only have some of his former players advanced to the collegiate level, Bracco has coached an NBA Lottery Pick and seven players who have gone on to play professionally overseas. 

Bracco earned his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville State University in physical education, his master's from Alabama in health sciences and his Ed.S. from Valdosta State in coaching pedagogy and physical education.
