DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Volleyball fell in three sets to Queens on Sunday afternoon.
The Hatters fell behind early in the first set and clawed their way back into it before falling 25-19. Stetson took an early lead in the second set going up 6-2 however the lead wouldn't hold. They would go on to drop set two 25-12.
Queens took an early lead to begin the third set, but the Hatters fought back and took the lead. The two teams would battle back and forth until later in the set when both teams were tied at 21 and 22. Stetson fell in the third set 25-22.
Anabelle Standish led the team in kills with eight followed by
Jenna Simmons with six.
Leilani Vitale tallied 13 assists for a team high. Defensively,
Haruka Sugimoto totaled a team leading 16 digs.
Up next for Stetson is a showdown at North Florida on Friday, October 4. That match will begin at 7:00pm.
