THE LEAD
The Stetson University Men's Soccer team will return home for the second time this season after falling to the College of Charleston 3-2 on Monday night. Despite a loss, the Hatters saw goals from
Rafael Pinzon and
Maurice Hauser, the first collegiate goal of the former's career.
Stetson will host the Goergia Southern Eagles at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand, Florida on Friday night at 7:00 PM. Last time the Hatters were home at the ATC, they defeated the visiting Florida international Panthers in a 1-0 shutout.
Tonight's promotion is Youth Soccer Night! Admission to the game is free and there will be post game autographs, half time mini games, and make sure to wear your club jersey!

INSIDE THE SERIES
The two teams have met 10 times prior to Friday night's matchup with the Hatters holding a slight lead in the series with a 5-4-1 record. The Hatters have had the recent edge, as 2017 was the last time the Eagles defeated Stetson. That 2017 game was played in Georgia, however, while tonight's game will be in DeLand, where the Hatters hold a 3-1-1 record in the series. Last time they met, on Oct. 18, 2022 in DeLand, the match resulted in a 2-2 draw. The series dates back to Sept. 3, 2006, when Georgia Southern took the first game in Statesboro by the score of 2-1.

Stetson will continue their homestand at the ATC on Monday, Sept. 9 when they play host to UAB at 11:00 AM. There will be no stream for this game but it will be free admission to all fans.
