JACKSONVILLE - The Stetson women's golf team wrapped up the Sea Best Intercollegiate in Jacksonville with a solid 7th place finish out of 15 teams. The Hatters were led by freshman standout Isaki Sakashita, who capped off a stellar performance with a 4th place finish. Sakashita's total score of 213, ending 3-under par, was highlighted by a tournament-low round of 66 in the final day. She also recorded 20 pars and tied for the tournament's best with 10 birdies.
Joining Sakashita on the leaderboard was Filippa Jansson, who finished tied for 30th after rounds of 77, 71, and 75 for a total of 223. Elizabeth Eberle and Ailsa Brannock posted total scores of 224 (T35) and 225 (T39), respectively, both matching scores of 74 in the opening round. Grace Smith rounded out the team, finishing tied for 56th with a total of 231 (77-74-80).
Victoria Leach, competing as an individual, wrapped up the tournament with a consistent 235 total (79-78-78).
As a team, Stetson excelled on Par 3s, averaging a tournament-best 2.98, while also posting solid finishes on Par 4s and 5s.
Next up, the Hatters return to action at home, preparing to host the Babs Steffens Invitational at the DeBary Country Club, scheduled for Feb 24-25.
