DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson men's soccer returns home to open the month of October with an ASUN matchup against Jacksonville on Saturday night at the Athletic Training Center. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Hatters (4-4-0) enter the contest riding a three-match win streak, most recently earning a 3-1 road victory over FGCU in their conference opener last weekend. Graduate midfielder Dominik Topolsky gave the Hatters an early lead they would never relinquish, while Valentin Fontaine and Daniel Makowem each scored their first goals as Hatters to secure the win.
Stetson's attack has come alive in recent weeks. After seeing just two goal scorers through the first five matches, the Hatters have now had 11 different players find the back of the net this season. Graduate goalkeeper Nicolo Radaelli, who returned to the starting lineup after sitting out Senior Night against Warner, made four saves against FGCU to bring his season total to 23.
The Hatters hold a 10-9-6 all-time record against Jacksonville, including a 7-7-6 mark in ASUN play. Stetson played Jacksonville to a scoreless draw in last year's regular season meeting, while their most recent win over the Dolphins came in the 2023 ASUN Championship Quarterfinals in Louisville. The Hatters are 5-4-2 all-time against Jacksonville at home.
The Dolphins (2-5-1) arrive in DeLand still searching for their first road win of the season, having dropped their last three matches — including a 1-0 ASUN opener to North Florida. Nicolas Aanensen Karlsen leads the team with three goals, all coming in the win over Trinity College of Jacksonville. Juan Pablo Gonzalez and Kailas Cooper have each netted two goals, while Felix Kogler leads the squad in shots with 15. In goal, Christian Sekanina has started five matches and tallied 11 saves, while Simen Havig has made 14 saves in three starts.
Saturday's match will not be streamed, but live stats will be available on GoHatters.com. Fans are encouraged to join the fun as Stetson hosts Club Night and Pups on the Pitch Night — bring your dogs and wear your favorite club gear to cheer on the Hatters.
