Hatters Claim Team Title, Lefèvre Wins Medalist Honors at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Matthis Lefèvre earned medalist honors and the Stetson University men's golf team captured its first team title of the season with a dominant performance at the 55th Furman Intercollegiate, held at the Furman University Golf Club.

The Hatters led wire-to-wire and posted a team score of 3-under-par 849, finishing six strokes ahead of runner-up Campbell and nine ahead of third-place Western Kentucky. Virginia Tech placed fourth, with host Furman rounding out the top five in the 15-team field.

Stetson was the only team to record two rounds under par and led the field in par-5 scoring at 14-under across the 54-hole event.

This marks the Hatters' first tournament victory since the 2024 Daytona Beach Intercollegiate. That same season, Stetson collected three team titles and secured an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships. This fall, the Hatters have posted three top-five finishes in four events.

Lefèvre, a native of Hossegor, France, jumped out to an early lead in yesterday's first round with a 6-under par 65.  Entering the today's final round tied for the tournament lead at 5-under, he carded a 1-under par 70 to claim a two-stroke victory over Virginia Tech's Benjamin Baker.

Teammate Gaspar Glaudas moved up 13 places in today's final found, sharing fifth place after posting a 1-under par 70 in today's final round to finish at even par for the tournament.  The senior from Sainte Tulle, France went 74-70-70 over the three rounds.

Junior Rasmus Ronnberg moved up five spots to share 13th place at 2-over par.  He turned in rounds of 71-72-72.  Like his teammates, Simon Engman made the most of his final round to move up 11 spots in the individual standings.  He finished at 5-over par with rounds of 72-74-72.

Gabriel Lindahl recovered from a difficult first round to post a pair of even par rounds to finish in a tie for 40th overall in the 87-golfer field.  Moving up 26 spots, he made the second biggest move up the leaderboard of any golfer in today's final round.

Freshman Thanattasorn Supinraj turned in rounds of 79-77-77 to finish at 20-over par.

Stetson will conclude its fall season next week at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, Oct. 27–28, at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
