JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Stetson return to Jacksonville on Monday to face top-seeded North Florida in the ASUN Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals at 7:00 PM at Hodges Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available.
The Hatters punched their ticket to the semifinals with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over #2 seed Central Arkansas on Saturday. After falling behind in the ninth minute on a goal from Pietro Fontana, Stetson responded with a quick turnaround in the second half, as Zsombor Pall scored in the 54th minute and Dominik Topolsky followed two minutes later to secure the win. Nicolo Radaelli made four saves, helping preserve the advantage and push Stetson to 6-8-2 overall.
Stetson will now face a familiar foe in North Florida, the #1 seed and Graphite Division champions. The Hatters needed a 4-1 win over the Ospreys earlier this month to clinch a playoff spot, with standout performances from Pall and Andres Mata, each scoring twice. North Florida comes in 11-5-0 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play, led offensively by Jaxon Reinhardt with six goals and an assist, and Luc Granitur and Geraldo Neto, each with five goals. Goalkeeper Luciano Natoli anchors the Ospreys, totaling 52 saves and eight clean sheets this season.
This marks Stetson's ninth consecutive trip to the ASUN Tournament, and the Hatters will look to continue their momentum from the Central Arkansas win as they aim for a spot in the championship match.
