Hatters Drop Regular Season Finale to FGCU

Cam Thomas Hits 500 Points on Season

DeLAND, FLCameron Thomas, Quentarra Mitchell, and Tiasia McMillan combined to score 46 of Stetson's 60 total points, but the Hatters fell to conference champion FGCU, 86-60, at the Insight Credit Union Arena on Saturday afternoon. The game also marked Senior Day, with Stetson honoring four seniors: Tiasia McMillan, Shelby Calhoun, Quentarra Mitchell, and Tyra Myers.

Stetson finished the regular season with a 16-14 record and 10-8 in ASUN play, with three players scoring in double figures in the loss. Thomas led the team with 18 points, Mitchell added 16, and McMillan contributed 12 points along with a team-high seven rebounds. Thomas also scored nine points in the first quarter, surpassing 500 points for the season, becoming the first Hatter to reach that milestone since Brittney Chambers in the 2017-18 season.

Stetson fell behind early, trailing 29-15 at the end of the first quarter. They opened the second quarter with a 9-0 run, narrowing the deficit to 29-24, but FGCU responded and extended their lead, taking a 45-32 advantage into halftime.

After the break, FGCU continued to widen its lead, building a 66-38 margin before Stetson mounted a 7-0 run, capped by a basket from McMillan with 46 seconds remaining in the third. However, FGCU stretched its lead to 70-45 heading into the fourth.

FGCU maintained control in the fourth quarter, extending its lead to 86-51 before Stetson closed the game with a 9-0 run, highlighted by a deep three-pointer from Tyra Myers as time expired. Despite the late rally, FGCU held on to its commanding lead throughout.

The Hatters now shift their focus to the ASUN Championship Tournament and will face #4 EKU in Richmond, KY, at 3:00 PM ET on Saturday, March 8.
