Pompano Beach, Fla. – Stetson beach volleyball fell to #3 TCU and #4 USC by 4-1 scores on Saturday.
The Hatters had an early start on Saturday, taking on TCU at 8:00 a.m. Katie Camp and Maria Ozaeta earned the lone point for Stetson, battling to a 8-21, 22-20, 19-17 victory on court 2.
Youna Coens and Grace Goudy dropped their match on court 1, 13-21, 6-21, while Marta Carro and Julia Radelczuk fell 14-21, 20-22 on court 3. Vanessa Hurnikova and Hanna Gubik lost on court 5, 7-21, 11-21, and Julia Czurylo and Madeline Camp were edged out in a three-set battle on court 4, 21-16, 22-24, 13-15.
In the second match against USC, Gubik and Caroline De Oliveira provided the lone point for Stetson with a hard-fought 15-21, 21-18, 17-15 win on court 5.
Coens and Goudy were defeated on court 1, 15-21, 8-21, while Ozaeta and K. Camp fell 12-21, 15-21 on court 2. Carro and Radelczuk dropped their match on court 3, 17-21, 18-21, and Czurylo and Camp were defeated on court 4, 14-21, 17-21.
The Hatters will return home for the Stetson Beach Blast, beginning Friday, March 21. Stetson will face Erskine at 9:15 a.m. and Florida State at 2:00 p.m.
