Laguna Beach, Calif. – Stetson beach volleyball dropped both of their matches today, first falling to #11 Long Beach 3-2 and then to #6 Cal Poly 4-1.
Against Long Beach,
Marta Carro and
Julia Radelczuk secured Stetson's first point on court 2 with a two-set win, 23-21, 30-28.
Madeline Camp and
Julia Czurylo added another point for the Hatters on court 4, also in a three-set battle, 21-17, 19-21, 17-15.
However,
Katie Camp and
Maria Ozaeta were defeated on court 1, 13-21, 12-21, while
Youna Coens and
Caroline De Oliveira fell in a three-set match on court 3, 18-21, 21-18, 4-15.
Grace Goudy and
Vanessa Hurnikova lost on court 5, 9-21, 19-21.
Against Cal Poly, Czurylo and M. Camp earned the Hatters' only point on court 5, winning 21-16, 16-21, 16-14.
Ozaeta and K. Camp lost on court 1, 21-18, 21-13, while Carro and Radelczuk fell on court 2, 14-21, 13-21. Coens and De Oliveira were defeated on court 3 in three sets, 21-18, 12-21, 11-14, and Goudy and Hurnikova lost on court 4, 11-21, 16-21.
Stetson will head to Georgia State next, where they will face Louisiana Monroe at 8:30 AM and Georgia State at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 11.
