Camden, N.J. — The Stetson men's rowing team capped off its spring season with an impressive showing at the 2025 IRA National Championship, placing 14th overall in the Varsity 4+ event on the Cooper River.
Racing in a deep and talented field of 39 boats, the Hatters earned a second-place finish in the Third Final with a time of 6:29.420, just behind Marist (6:27.440). The crew featured coxswain Elliot Steward and rowers Sacha Roiena, Samuel Tise, Lukasz Bajorek, and Endrik Brettmann, who outpaced boats from FIT, Stanford, Cornell, and Oklahoma City in their final race.
Stetson opened the regatta with a strong performance in the time trials, posting a time of 6:12.696 to claim the 14th seed. Their effort stood out as they finished ahead of nationally regarded programs including Brown, Boston University, and Northeastern. A sixth-place finish in the semifinals secured their place in the Third Final.
The result marks one of the program's best national finishes and highlights the steady progress the Hatters have made in recent seasons. With momentum building, Stetson heads into the offseason with confidence and a clear trajectory toward greater success in the year ahead.
