Miami, Fla. – Fresh off a comeback 2-1 victory over South Carolina State, Stetson Women's Soccer returns to action Thursday night as the Hatters travel to Miami to take on Florida International. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at FIU Soccer Stadium.
The Hatters (1-0) showed resilience in their season opener, rallying from a one-goal deficit in the second half. Freshman Jess Howard netted her first collegiate goal in the 67th minute, just six minutes after South Carolina State opened the scoring. In the 80th minute, Reese Huffman put Stetson ahead for good, and the defense held firm to secure the win.
FIU (1-1-1) enters Thursday's match coming off a 3-1 victory over Florida Atlantic — the Panthers' first win of the season. They opened the year with a 2-0 loss to No. 3 Florida State and followed that with a 1-1 draw against North Florida.
