DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Volleyball heads to Miami for the 305 Challenge, where they will face off against UCF, FIU, and North Texas.
The tournament kicks off on Friday, with Stetson taking on UCF at 1:00 PM, followed by a 6:00 PM matchup against FIU. The Hatters will conclude the event on Saturday at 11:00 AM against North Texas. All matches will be held at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
Zuzanna Bury leads Stetson in kills with 50 through 13 sets while adding 20 digs and three total blocks. She has already posted her career best numbers with 25 kills and 16 digs while tallying two double doubles in the first week of play.
Nyah Molina has also made a strong return to the court, tallying 12 kills, 109 assists, and a team-high 55 digs. She is now just 103 assists shy of reaching the 3,000-assist milestone.
Scouting the Opponents
UCF enters the tournament undefeated at 3-0, having swept their opening matches against Chattanooga (3-0), Norfolk State (3-1), and UC Riverside (3-0). Avah Armour leads UCF with 36 kills, while three other Knights have recorded over 25 kills this season. Sophia Kotsovolos has contributed 36 digs in 8 sets, averaging 4.5 digs per set.
Florida International comes off a 2-1 weekend at Duke. The Panthers fell 3-0 to Houston, a team receiving votes, before defeating Bryant (3-0) and Duke (3-1). Kira Givans leads FIU with 34 kills over nine sets, while Mandi Morioka tops the team with 45 digs across ten sets, averaging 4.5 digs per set.
North Texas is also 3-0 to start the season, with wins over Little Rock (3-1), Providence (3-1), and a sweep of East Texas A&M (3-0). Reagan Bedell leads the team with 41 kills, closely followed by Jahniya Jackson with 33. On defense, Dakota Mitchell leads with 43 digs, and Loredana Fouonji tops the team with 12 blocks.
Next weekend, Stetson will travel to Charleston for the College of Charleston Invitational.
