Hatters Continue Homestand with Florida, Boston University

DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson women's lacrosse continues its homestand this week, hosting Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6:00 p.m. before welcoming Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 12:00 p.m.

The Hatters opened the season on the road at Florida State before returning home to face South Florida. Through two games, Lexi Bird, Charlotte Castiglione and Kathleen Nichols are tied for the team lead with two goals each, while Bird leads the squad with two assists.

As a team, Stetson has recorded 27 total shots, including 16 on goal, and has converted 20-of-32 clear attempts. The Hatters have also collected 13 ground balls, won 14 draw controls and caused six turnovers.

In goal, Maddie Eckert and Harper Hodgett have each made a start, combining for 25 saves. Stetson enters Wednesday's matchup with a .296 shooting percentage, a .778 shots-on-goal percentage and a .286 free-position percentage.

Florida comes into the contest ranked No. 7 nationally and riding back-to-back victories over No. 19 Loyola Maryland and No. 7 Clemson. Clark Hamilton leads the Gators with 14 goals and six assists for 20 points on the season. Frannie Hahn and Boo DeWitt have each scored six goals, while Hahn also paces the team with seven assists. In goal, Paige Crowther and Maya Soskin have combined for 28 saves and a .424 save percentage. As a team, Florida has registered 88 shots with a .466 shooting percentage and a .716 shots-on-goal percentage. The Gators have also totaled 31 ground balls and 31 draw controls while posting a perfect 1.000 clear percentage.

Boston University enters the weekend at 3-2 overall following a loss to No. 14 Yale. Elle Stevenson leads the Terriers with 11 goals, while Tessa Geddes has added 10. Natalie Aiosa has started all five games in goal, recording 48 saves and posting a .485 save percentage. As a team, Boston University has taken 146 shots with a .397 shooting percentage and 100 shots on goal (.685). The Terriers have scored 16 free-position goals, collected 59 ground balls and won 67 draw controls while posting a .944 clear percentage.

Stetson and Florida will meet for the sixth time in program history on Wednesday, while Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between the Hatters and Terriers.
