Hatters Finish Regular Season with Jacksonville, FGCU

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball wraps up the regular season with a road matchup at Jacksonville on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m., before returning home for Senior Day against FGCU on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2:00 p.m.

Stetson enters the week with a 10–19 overall record and a 6–10 mark in ASUN play. Collin Kuhl continued his strong stretch, recording his seventh double-double of the season against North Florida with 13 points and 12 rebounds. He is averaging 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while also contributing 19 assists, 25 steals, and seven blocks.

Ethan Copeland remains a steady offensive presence, averaging 14.4 points per game while shooting 42 percent from three-point range and leading the team with 46 steals. Copeland has scored in double figures in more than 20 games this season, including six performances of 20 or more points. Most recently, he poured in 27 points against Central Arkansas, shooting 9-for-18 from the field and 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. Calvin Sirmans III continues to orchestrate the offense, pacing the Hatters with a team-high 116 assists. He also recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 assists against Central Arkansas. As a team, Stetson is averaging 73 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range, and 68 percent from the free-throw line.

Jacksonville enters Thursday's matchup with a 10–19 overall record and a 5–11 mark in ASUN play. The Dolphins are led by Hayden Wood, who averages 11.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Jason Thirdkill Jr. leads the team in rebounding at 4.9 boards per game and in blocks with 25. Evan Sterck paces Jacksonville with 93 assists and is tied with Jaylen Jones for the team lead in steals with 36. As a unit, the Dolphins average 72 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range, and 70 percent from the free-throw line.

FGCU comes into the week with a 14–15 overall record and an 8–8 mark in ASUN play. The Eagles will visit North Florida before traveling to DeLand. J.R. Konieczny leads FGCU with averages of 14.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, followed closely by Jordan Ellerbee at 14.2 points per contest. Rahmir Barno and Isaiah Malone round out the double-digit scorers at 11.6 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. Barno also leads the team in assists with 151 and steals with 43. The Eagles average 79 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range, and 71 percent from the free-throw line.
Thursday's game marks the 60th all-time meeting between Stetson and Jacksonville, with the Hatters earning a 67–62 win in the earlier matchup this season in DeLand. Saturday's contest will be the 42nd meeting between Stetson and FGCU, after the Hatters fell just short, 78–76, in the previous matchup this year.
