DeLand, Fla. — Softball America and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their weekly softball honors Tuesday, with Stetson's
Nicole Edmiaston earning Player of the Week recognition from both organizations.
Edmiaston also earned ASUN Player of the Week honors on Monday as Stetson entered the D1Softball Mid-Major Rankings at No. 16 and Softball America's Mid-Major Rankings at No. 22.
Edmiaston opened conference play with arguably the hottest bat in softball, finishing the week with a .692 batting average, .714 on-base percentage, and a 1.615 slugging percentage. Against North Florida, she was held off base just twice, collecting three hits in each game, including a double and a home run in both contests. She narrowly missed the cycle in each of the first two games, lacking only a triple.
For the series, Edmiaston drove in 11 runs, scored seven times, and drew a walk. Her numbers against the Ospreys were staggering: an .818 batting average, .833 on-base percentage, 1.909 slugging percentage, and a 2.742 OPS.
Edmiaston currently leads the ASUN in multiple hitting categories, including batting average, hits, home runs, on-base percentage, RBIs, runs scored, RBIs per game, and total bases. She also ranks among the top 25 nationally in several of those categories.
On the season, Edmiaston owns a .511 batting average, .577 on-base percentage, and a 1.600 OPS. She has collected 45 hits, including six doubles and 13 home runs, while driving in 46 RBIs.
