DeLand, Fla. – Stetson women's lacrosse returns home to open conference play Saturday, hosting Coastal Carolina at 12:00 p.m.
Ryley Heilmann and
Lexi Bird lead the Hatters entering the week, each tallying 11 goals. Bird paces the team in assists (7) and total points (18).
Alexa Vega and
Charlotte Castiglione have also contributed offensively with six goals apiece.
As a team, Stetson has recorded 119 shots, including 86 on goal, and has converted 93-of-126 clear attempts. The Hatters have collected 73 ground balls, won 76 draw controls and caused 25 turnovers. Stetson enters Saturday's matchup with a .420 shooting percentage, a .798 shots-on-goal percentage and a .387 free-position percentage. In goal,

Coastal Carolina enters conference play with a 6-2 overall record and is coming off an 8-7 win over Vanderbilt. The Chanticleers will face Jacksonville on Thursday before traveling to DeLand. Alexandra Horn leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and 16 assists, while Sophi Kingsborough is tied for the team lead in goals.
Defensively, Charlotte Sadler has been a standout, earning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors three times this season. She leads the conference in goals-against average (8.26) and save percentage (.496), while ranking second in total saves (63) and third in saves per game (7.88). As a team, Coastal Carolina has scored 90 goals on 229 shots, including 134 on target, for a .393 shooting percentage and a .664 shots-on-goal percentage. The Chanticleers have also totaled 129 ground balls, 96 draw controls and 65 caused turnovers.
Saturday's matchup marks the 11th meeting between the two programs.
