Stetson Heads to No. 5 Florida for Midweek Matchup

Gainesville, Fla. – Stetson softball travels to Gainesville on Wednesday, March 25 for a midweek matchup against No. 5 Florida, marking the first game of a home-and-home series between the two programs.

The Hatters look to bounce back after a 1–2 weekend in Fort Myers and currently sit tied for second in the ASUN Graphite Division with a 4–2 conference record.

Nicole Edmiaston continues to lead Stetson at the plate, posting a .516 batting average, .578 on-base percentage, and a 1.627 OPS. She has totaled 47 hits, including six doubles and 14 home runs, while driving in 48 RBIs. Edmiaston earned three Player of the Week honors last week from the ASUN, Softball America, and the NFCA, and is currently tied for the program record for consecutive games with a home run.

Amber Chumley has also been a key contributor, batting .376 with five home runs, while Irianis Garcia ranks second on the team with 32 hits, including three doubles, a triple, and five home runs. Garcia also ranks second nationally in assists.

As a team, Stetson is batting .319 with a .405 on-base percentage, totaling 273 hits, 110 walks, and 195 RBIs.

In the circle, Ava Braswell holds a 10–6 record with 83.1 innings pitched, a 2.86 ERA, and 36 strikeouts. Hayley Arnold is coming off a strong weekend, earning a win across two appearances while tossing 9.1 innings with a 0.75 ERA and four strikeouts.

Florida enters the matchup ranked No. 5 in the nation with a 31–2 overall record and an 8–1 mark in SEC play. Taylor Shumaker leads the Gators with 56 hits, including 11 doubles and 13 home runs, posting a .496 batting average and a .574 on-base percentage. Jocelyn Erickson leads the team with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs while batting .451 with a .573 on-base percentage.

As a team, Florida is hitting .389 with a .488 on-base percentage, totaling 353 hits, including 70 doubles and 71 home runs, along with 292 RBIs.

In the circle, Keagan Rothrock is 17–2 across 21 appearances with 10 complete games and one save. She has thrown 100.2 innings with a 2.23 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and a .184 opponent batting average. The rest of the Gators' pitching staff is a combined 14–0 on the season.

Wednesday marks the 25th all-time meeting between Stetson and Florida.
