DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson University graduate student Matthis Lefèvre has been named the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
Lefèvre earned the honor following another standout performance at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate at LPGA International in Daytona Beach. The graduate transfer from France captured medalist honors at 6-under par, leading the Hatters to a commanding 21-stroke team victory.
Lefèvre posted rounds of 70-70-70 to finish atop the leaderboard, edging teammate Jackson Hicks by one stroke in the 84-player field. During the final round, Lefèvre surged ahead with six consecutive birdies, helping secure his second straight individual title.
The victory marked Lefèvre's third individual championship in his last four tournaments, including wins at the Dorado Beach Collegiate earlier this spring and the Furman Invitational during the fall season.
Behind Lefèvre's performance, Stetson posted the three lowest team rounds of the tournament to finish at 13-under par (851) against the 14-team field.
Stetson returns to action March 15-17 at the Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
