DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson men's tennis earned multiple postseason honors as announced by the ASUN Conference on Monday afternoon, highlighted by Alexandre Verlaguet being named to the All-ASUN First Team and Xavier Sarda Marti earning All-ASUN Second Team recognition.
Verlaguet, a graduate transfer, made an immediate impact in his first season with the Hatters, anchoring the lineup at No. 1 singles. He posted a strong 10-4 record while competing primarily at the top position and consistently faced each opponent's top player. His performance included a six-match winning streak during the regular season and key victories over top competition, establishing himself as one of the conference's premier players.
Sarda Marti delivered one of the most consistent seasons on the team, finishing with an 8-2 singles record while primarily playing on court three. He recorded wins over multiple ASUN opponents, including North Alabama and North Florida, and added notable victories over Florida Atlantic, Miami, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, and Air Force.
In addition to their on-court success, Sarda Marti and Christian Kuehne were named to the Academic All-ASUN Team, recognizing their excellence in the classroom as well as in competition.
The honors continue a strong tradition for Stetson men's tennis, marking the second consecutive season with a First Team All-ASUN selection and the third straight season with a Second Team honoree. The Hatters have now had a student-athlete earn either All-ASUN or All-Freshman Team recognition every year since 2001.
Stetson will look to carry that momentum into postseason play as the Hatters compete in the ASUN Championship.
