MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Stetson golfers Uy Doan and Simon Engman each posted top-10 finishes to lead the Hatters to a sixth-place finish at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate at Grande Dunes Resort Club.
The Hatters concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 6-under par, finishing one stroke behind Campbell and three strokes behind UTSA in the opening event of the 2026-27 season. Tournament host Coastal Carolina captured the team championship at 29-under par, the second-lowest 54-hole team score in program history.
Doan, a sophomore transfer from Hanoi, Vietnam, finished tied for fifth among the 90-golfer field after carding rounds of 68-74-69 to finish at 7-under par. Similar to Sunday's first round, he registered just one bogey in Tuesday's final round, firing a 3-under 69. After opening the day with a pair of pars, he dropped a stroke on the par-4 third hole for his only bogey of the round. Doan responded by recording 11 pars and four birdies over his final 15 holes.
Engman, a senior from Gothenburg, Sweden, moved up four spots on the leaderboard Tuesday after posting his third consecutive 2-under 70. He finished tied for second among all golfers in par-5 scoring at 4.25, while his 16 birdies during the tournament ranked fourth in the field.
Sophomore Thanattasorn Supinraj finished tied for 44th at 3-over par, two strokes ahead of senior teammate Gabriel Lindahl, who finished at 5-over par. Junior transfer Jack Northgraves shared 67th place at 8-over par.
Stetson returns to action Sept. 21-22 at the Florida Atlantic Invitational at The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla. The Hatters are scheduled to compete in four tournaments during the fall season.
