With non-conference games all but behind them, Stetson's youthful women's soccer team opens Atlantic Sun Conference play on Friday when the Hatters visit defending champion Jacksonville. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
Stetson, which features a roster of 14 freshmen, enters the match with a 2-7-1 overall record, while Jacksonville is 6-4-1 overall. The Hatters come into the match with some momentum following last Sunday's 1-0 win over Charleston Southern. Eduarda Pavao scored the game's only goal, with freshman Sarah Collins providing the assist.
The Hatters were picked to finish fourth in the A-Sun preseason poll, while JU was picked second. The Dolphins feature preseason A-Sun co-Player of the Year Kaitlyn Bassett.
Friday's match will be the 22nd meeting in a series which dates back to 1995. Jacksonville holds a 12-7-2 advantage in the all-time series.
There will be no live video for Friday's match. Fans can follow the match via live stats on the JU athletics website or by following the Stetson women's soccer Twitter account @StetsonWSoccer.
