Stetson junior Lucas Diniz has been named Atlantic Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Diniz was honored for his efforts in Stetson's 6-0 win over North Florida in the A-Sun opener for both teams. He helped Stetson to its highest single-game scoring output since 2010 by scoring two goals and recording a pair of assists.

Diniz assisted on a goal in the first half when Stetson built a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. In the second half he provided two goals and another assist. The goals scored were his first of the season. He now has five assists on the season, which currently ties him for the A-Sun lead.

This is Stetson's first offensive player of the week award in 2014. Earlier this month Paul Ladwig (Sept. 8) and JJ Lofthouse-Smith (Sept. 15) each won defensive player of the week honors.

The Hatters return to action when they visit Florida Gulf Coast, 7 p.m., Saturday.
