Hatters Open ASUN Road Trip Thursday at Lipscomb

Stetson men's basketball continues Atlantic Sun Conference play on Thursday when the Hatters visit Lipscomb, 7:30 p.m. EST, at Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, and can be heard in Volusia County on WSBB AM 1230 and 1490.

The Hatters (7-10 overall, 0-1 ASUN) are looking to rebound from last Saturday's heartbreaking 89-88 loss to FGCU in DeLand. Lipscomb (9-9, 1-0) won its ASUN opener, 82-79, over Kennesaw State.

Four different players scored in double figures for the Hatters against FGCU. Divine Myles led all scorers with 21 points, while Derick Newton and Luke Doyle had 18 each. Leo Goodman came off the bench to score 11 points on 3 of 4 shooting from 3-point range.

Lipscomb is led by 6-5 sophomore Garrison Matthews, who is fourth in the ASUN in scoring at 19.2 points per game.

•When FGCU shot 51.5 percent from field in last Saturday's game, it was only the second time this season an opponent shot at least 50 percent from the field (FIU, .554).
•Senior forward Brian Pegg needs two points to become the 34th Hatter -- and second this season -- to reach 1,000 career points. Divine Myles joined the 1,000-point club in December.
•Sophomore Derick Newton (828) is also on pace to reach 1,000 career points this season
•Sophomore Leo Goodman started the season by missing his first 22 shots from 3-point range. He recovered slightly and followed that by going 9 for his next 36. But over his last two games he's regained the form that saw him shoot 39 percent (39-100) as a freshman, making 6 of 10 shots from the arc while averaging 14.0 points.
•With 102 assists in 17 games, junior Angel Rivera is on pace to break the program record for assists in a season (179, Terry Johnson, 1986-87).
