Hatters Host League-Leading USC Upstate on Saturday

Stetson men's basketball welcomes Atlantic Sun Conference foe USC Upstate to the Edmunds Center, 4 p.m., Saturday. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, and can be heard in Volusia County on WSBB AM 1230 and 1490.
 
The Hatters (8-12 overall, 1-3 ASUN) picked up their first conference win of the season on Thursday with an impressive 82-76 win over NJIT. Derick Newton led four Hatters in double figures with 21 points. Brian Pegg, who scored 10 points, scored his 1,000th career point in the win.
 
Upstate is the surprise of the league to this point, and the Spartans (13-8, 3-1) earned their most impressive win of the season on Thursday with a 62-60 victory at FGCU. The Spartans were picked to finish last in the preseason poll, but they'll enter Saturday tied atop the league standings.

•Senior forward Brian Pegg became the 2nd player this season and the 34th in program history to score 1,000 career points when he reached the milestone on Thursday against NJIT. Junior Divine Myles joined the 1,000-point club in December.
•Sophomore Derick Newton (876) is also on pace to reach 1,000 career points this season
•Pegg is 2 rebounds shy of 700 for his career
•The Hatters are 6-3 at home this season and can surpass last year's home total with a victory on Saturday
•Stetson committed a season-low 3 turnovers in Thursday's win over NJIT. It was the fewest number of turnovers in the Corey Williams era
•Divine Myles had a season-high 8 assists on Thursday
